Keystone Cops — Bangor, Maine
The unit was formed in the summer of 1982 while the Illustrious Sir, Harold W. "Sonny" Crocker, Jr. was Potentate and shortly after the June Ceremonial.
Frank Jordan and Tyler Dunning formed the unit with the approval of the Potentate and Divan.
It's purpose: to create an old Keystone Kops unit as depicted in the movies and to support all Anah Shriners functions.
There were fifteen (15) Charter members and five (5) alternates when the unit was organized. Today, after numerous parades, steak feeds, dances and Sunday BEANO, the unit is one of the more active units and makes impressive donations to the Shrine Center and the hospitals.

Merry Christmas to all! I wish you all good fortune, health and happiness throughout the coming year.
Now back to business, happy birthday to Brother Noble Todd Jackson, let's hope he is younger than the fossil fuel he sells. Ladies having birthdays include Ann Byers, Dianne Clarke, Carol Lackey and Sue Bruns.
Now for anniversaries, congratulations to George & Eva Mayo, also Bill & Donna Perkins.
Our October meeting went well, as always, all should try to attend. It is only once a month and your input is wanted. New officers were discussed but first let's give a huge "thanks" to our Chief Harold Stevens for all of his sincere efforts in the past two years to help promote and maintain the prestige and philanthropic endeavors of our unit and Anah Shrine. Also to Lady Pattie for her understanding and patience because we all know our now Past Chief is probably enough to tolerate on his own let alone hold an office and oversee a group of Nobles like us! Thanks again. Subject also discussed was next year's Potentate's budget for 2007. It was voted to pledge $4,000 to the 2007 Potentates budget. The Bingo report indicated it is making some money, as well is the kitchen, it is modest but we are in the black. I would also like to thank Buddy Bruns and Keith Antworth for their steady help with the kitchen. Remember, we need all to help, please! Figures from the gun raffle and golf tournament were discussed and final figures should be posted at the next meeting. We did well on both. Good job and thanks to J. R. Tozier for his help on the gun raffle and for securing the most sponsors for our golf tournament. Great job, J.R.! We all know how much help Sonny "the kid" Crocker was for our gun raffle so let's all give him a big hug and kiss too, maybe just a thank you is good enough. Our silent auction was postponed until February '07 and we should have tickets soon.
Before I sign off I would like to express our appreciation to one of our busiest Ladies for all her contributions to our unit. A heartfelt thanks you to Carol Lackey, you are one of the reasons we are successful. Keep up the good work and that goes to you all.
I almost forgot, to all you snowbirds leaving for the winter, enjoy and be safe, the boys and I will hold down the fort until you return. One more, thanks to the Ladies for baking goods for our Bingo, you are so generous.
Ho-ho-ho-ho for now
Remember, Christmas is a time for giving, but the year is a time for caring!
P.S. I think our Annual Meeting dinner is first Tuesday, December 5th Formal dress!
