I joined the Army National Guard after high school and was called up to active duty 6 months after Jaime and I married. For more than a year the men I served with were my family. When I came home, I searched for a place to belong and found masonry in 2005. In 2006, we joined the Shrine Family. Jaime and I have raised our own family here.

Since my appointment in 2016, I've spent my years on the Divan doing my best to balance family and Shrine life. My pin represents all the things I love: Family, Country, Shrine (and baseball).

Here's to a year full of FAMILY + FUN, that is what makes us ANAH SHRINERS.

Illustrious Potentate 2024
Illustrious Sir, Adam Beals

Noble Adam Beals was born May 31, 1978, in Presque Isle, Maine. He graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1997. He worked for a short time at McCain Foods in Washburn, Maine. There he met his wife Jaime Hewitt of Easton.

Adam enlisted in the Maine Army National Guard in 1998, he completed his basic training and AIT at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He trained as a 63 Bravo Heavy Wheeled Mechanic. His training served him well when he came home, he started a EMCC in Diesel Truck and Heavy Equipment Technology program.
In 2000, Adam started as a mechanic for local trucking company he quickly moved to a shop foreman position where he remained until 2003. Adam and Jaime were married July 27, 2002. About 6 months later, Adam was called up for deployment to the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 1136th Transportation Company, Bangor.

Adam returned home in the spring of 2004, where plans were being made to build their new home in Old Town. Adam returned to the trucking industry, where he negotiated a position on the day shift so that he could spend more time with his wife after 14 months away. During the same year, Adam and Jaime worked hand in hand with their family and countless friends to build their home.
In 2006, Adam was honorably discharged from the from the Army National Guard after 8 years of service. Adam began his Masonic journey the same year after asking Noble Steve Mclain "what he had to do to be one". He was raised to the degree of an EA in January, in February he passed to the degree of a FC, and in March he was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason. Mid-June in Mars Hill, Adam became a Nobel of Anah Shrine while under the direction of Illustrious Potentate Richard Hallett.
In the fall of '06, Adam joined the Second Section where he lived for 10 years. During his membership Adam served as 2nd Assistants Director for 2 years and Director for 3 years. Adam served as Bangor-Brewer President for 1 term. As one of the founding members of the SMART Team, he served as their director for 2 years. Adam is a founding member of the Yoshi, is Lifetime member of all 8 Shrine Clubs and the Sunshine Club. He was Master of Howard Lodge in Winterport for two consecutive years. Thru the years Adam and Jaime have grown their family to include 2 sons. Colby Adam born Nov. 3rd, 2008 and Brandon Michael born Apr. 23rd 2012. Adam continued in the trucking industry transitioning to the Director of Maintenance being responsible for 15 Techs, 105 trucks and 475 trailers. He served as the Chairman of the Special Events Committee for Maine Motor Transport Association. For 2 years, Adam also sat Chairman for the State on Maine Tech Competition challenging mechanics in their field for the privilege of representing our state nationally.

Apon leaving the trucking industry Adam and Jaime purchased Spaulding Radiator in August 2015. And in January 2021 purchased Bangor Radiator - Rust Check combining the businesses to form Spaulding's Bangor Radiator. Adam is pleased to serve the community continuing the work of both family grown businesses that have been in operation for more than 90 years.

Another passion that Adam has developed over many years has been youth sports. Namely baseball where he started coaching Farm League in Old Town when his boys were 7 and 4. When his boys moved up, so did he to coach the Cal Ripken League 'Iron Pigs' for 4 years. Finally, he has spent the last 4 years coaching his son's Maine Sting AAU Baseball Teams and assisting when he wasn't the head coach. During the summers if he wasn't at work or at the Shrine, he could always be found at a baseball field throwing hundreds of baseballs to his boys in the cages or hitting pop flies on the fields.
